Jennifer Bauer-Conley (B.A., Dance/Theatre, Manhattanville College) is a recent transplant to the Houston area from her home in NYC, where she has worked for ten years as a director, choreographer, actress and teaching artist with many of New York's most esteemed and successful professional theatres, youth theatre companies and school arts programs. While at Manhattanville she apprenticed under legendary Broadway dancer and choreographer Bonnie Walker (whose recent work includes staging and choreographing the Tony-award winning revival of "Gypsy", starring Patti LuPone). Since graduating, Jennifer has directed and/or choreographed more than 60 shows. Recent work includes directing/choreographing and teaching with Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Camp, Westchester Broadway Theatre; White Plains Performing Arts Center; Clarkstown Summer Theatre Festival; Briarcliff High School; Clarkstown South High School; Rye High School; Saddle River Summer Theatre; Nyack Middle and High Schools; Pelham School; The Rockland Conservatory of Music; City Lights Youth Theatre; The Youth Theatre Experience; Manhattanville College; Saddle River Day School (where, in addition to directing and choreographing the middle and upper school musicals, she also directed and choreographed Men's and Women's Choirs, and created, directed and choreographed the school's Show Choir); and The Helen Hayes Youth Theatre where, in residency for five years, she directed and/or choreographed more than 20 musicals. Jennifer also works as a private acting coach and dance teacher. Other work includes performing and choreographing for regional professional theatre Yorktown Stage, and judging for Papermill Playhouse's Rising Star Awards, first of its kind in the nation and template for high school theatre awards nationwide. She is a nominee and winner of the Helen Hayes High School Theatre Awards Outstanding Production Number and Outstanding Choreography, and a Metro Awards nominee for Outstanding Choreography for her work in high school theatre. In addition to her work in the arts, in her spare time she also coaches cheerleading teams for elementary, middle and high schools.
